Berry Sweet First Birthday

Well, sometimes the best laid plans take a detour. We had the cutest little metal bucket ready to fill with milk. We filled it with water, mixed in the powdered milk, and added the strawberries. In went the birthday girl and suddenly we noticed a tiny pool of white liquid collecting around the base of the bucket. I couldn’t help but think, “Are you kidding me? This cannot be happening!” The bucket was leaking, and fast!

Now keep in mind that the gentleman at the store assured me that the bucket would hold water. But the amount of milk leaking out of the bucket would lead a person to believe otherwise. It was crunch time—time was of the essence. The strawberry milk bath had to happen fast before there was no more bath to be had.

As the milk level sank lower and lower, we thought we’d squeezed every minute out of the session we could. But just then Dad came to the rescue by finding a nearby water hose to top it off again. However, as Dad breathed new life into the session, Miss Tyler began picking the strawberries out of the milk and tossing them out of them bucket. We all laughed as we realized she was done and personally calling it quits. Dad once again came to the rescue again by topping her off, just as he’d topped off the milk bath. I’m sure the people driving by wondered what in the world we were doing.

I guess it’s true what they say—when you’re done, you’re done! Happy birthday little lady!
